A day to remember
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work in an industry that I love and, therefore, most of my days in the job are enjoyable ones. However, there are certain days that stand out, and our get-together on Saturday 11 November was very much one of those.
Five years ago, we acquired a three-acre site, which was formerly a cattery. Since then, we successfully navigated the complexities of the planning system and now, with the invaluable support of friends, the Henfield village community and a dedicated team, we have successfully launched our brand new headquarters: Unit WEST, Southdown Enterprise Park.
This would not have been possible without the input of brilliant designers, surveyors, architects, planning consultants, estate agents, insurers, financiers, lawyers, construction engineers, highways consultants and ecologists, not to mention the internal fit-out teams, electricians, IT suppliers and EV providers.
The overwhelming sense of gratitude, pride and satisfaction in constructing not just a stellar home for Southdown, but also a respectable workplace and a sustainable source of income for the community over the coming decades, is profound.
So it was wonderful to invite everyone who played a crucial role in this journey along to our grand opening. It was a day filled with fun, laughter and feasting and was our way of showing our gratitude to the dedicated team who contributed to this great achievement.
A sincere thank you to each and every person involved – we would not have got here without your invaluable support.
Perhaps we can do it all again one day. Until then, here’s to a job well done and we look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.
