Imagine my concern this morning on the way to work on the busy B2116 when I approached a road closure manned by the Police and saw the unmistakable ‘Southdown’ livery in amongst it. Moments later, our Service Manager Ryan Russell appeared to reassure me that there was nothing to worry about.

Last night’s gales had brought down a large tree and it was completely blocking the carriageway. But Daddy Russell was on his way with a chainsaw and apart from requiring a ladder which I had sent down, he, his Pa and his sister Hayley would have it sorted very shortly.

By the time I’d gone round the long way they had it sorted out. So A23 bound commuters, you have the boys (and girl) in ‘Blue & White’ to thank!
