Keeping the lights on… Despite the seemingly unending seasons on severe storms, Southdown Truck & Crane continues to facilitate the repair & upgrade of pylons, poles, pole mounted subs and overhead cabling alike. With access to remote job sites being an issue, due to wet and muddy fields something a little special is often required.
We provide 4 x 4 vehicle complete with experienced operator to overcome this problem. Aptly named ‘The Mule’, this vehicle is capable of traversing the difficult terrains that Britain has to throw at us, and importantly, without having undue impact on stakeholders premises and farms. Originally specified for power works on the remote island of Orkney, it’s fitted with a rear mounted Palfinger PK 7501 crane, it has the benefit of lifting capacities between 890 kgs at 7.5 metres and 1700 kgs at 4 metres. With a maximum reach of 11 metres including the fly jib, and a payload of 4,000 kgs. It also has a hydraulic PTO function giving us the the option of a post hole borer, making it one of the most versatile vehicles in our fleet.
