What the Dickens?

From the Great Fire of London through to the Edwardian period, an army of builders and craftsmen with horse and carts and carpet bags for tools set about building Londons atmospheric streets.

Since 1997, we’ve been in and working round them. The resulting organic street plan is great for a sense of history and filming period dramas. As for taking in pre fabricated steel staircases to be dropped into a subterranean terrace at full stick… not so much.

Yesterday was certainly a metropolitan day of patience and persistence for Carl Somner and his 36 t/m c/w 8×4 Scania.
