How do you get a 5 metre steel beam through a hole about half a metre square? In short, with skill, care and early in the morning. With access via a car park entrance only, a manhole access was enlarged only as far as structural integrity would allow. Through this aperture, a full 12 tonne load had to be off loaded and handed to the team of steel fixers working under ground. Time consuming and delicate work, but necessary for the projects success.
