Client: Ronin Events, Battersea Power Station

How do you render the derelict interior of the world famous Battersea power station safe and secure for thousands of people attending an event? Giant roadplates of course! Oh and it’s Friday morning and the event is Saturday night !

We were tasked by the boys at roadplatehire to get some of their hefty 6m x 3m and some slightly smaller 4m x 2m into Battersea and placed over some cavernous pits in the old turbine room floor.

In order to cover the largest voids, a scheme of marking and overlapping plates was instituted. The whole thing was lifted into place by our Scania 8 wheeler and its 36 t/m crane using the SALLY safe-lifter system.
