Lift planning
Lifting operations
Whether it’s a domestic septic tank, the precise assembly of a bonded customs suite in a secure location or a complex / heavy lift in a hazardous environment, Southdown’s lift planners have got you covered!
With our own temporary access equipment and in-house engineering provision, we can offer a complete and unparalleled turn-key experience.
Our team of continuously trained and experienced Appointed Persons and Crane Supervisors are qualified to meet the rigorous NPORS and/or ALLMI standards that are recognised and respected across the industry. These qualifications ensure that our professionals are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to manage lifting operations safely and efficiently.
We handle all aspects of lifting operations, from managing and documenting simple Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) or lift plans for high-frequency and routine loading and unloading procedures, to executing complex, one-off bespoke lifts and project lifts. Our expertise extends to various types of lifting equipment, including lorry-mounted cranes and telehandlers, which are ideal for both small and large-scale projects.
Our qualified operators with a can-do attitude will work with you to resolve issues if they arise, ensuring the job is seen through to a safe and successful conclusion.

Safety first
Our Appointed Persons are responsible for planning all lifting operations in accordance with British Standards (BS), ensuring that every lift is carried out safely and meets regulatory requirements. They work closely with our own on-site crews, ensuring that all activities are conducted according to the lift plan and that safety measures are adhered to at all times.
