The huge uptick in electricity demand has lead to a great deal of improvements and upgrades on the national grid’s electricity network. Clients like our recent customer have taken to land, water and air to carefully check various environmental ecosystems to ensure proper mitigations are made.
So recently we deployed one of our lightweight cranes with a specially-adapted winch system, allowing us to lift ‘freeboard’ several metres below the ground plane.
This enabled the safe deployment and recovery of an ROV platform kitted out with sensors to map the bed of some watercourses in order to plan for thrust-bore installation of feeder cables from a nearby off-shore windfarm.
