Southdown was proud to play a part in the delivery and installation of the new Worthing landmark letters, now on display in the town’s new Montague Gardens.
The letters were transported to site using our Volvo multi-axle rigid, fitted with a Fassi 54 tonne metre HIAB. Transporting a feature of this size required careful planning, secure loading and safe delivery to site.
Once on site, our driver worked alongside the banksman to safely attach the strops to the letters, ensuring a level and controlled lift. Each letter was then carefully lifted and positioned into place using the HIAB.
The team from Littlehampton Welding then guided the letters into their final positions and securely fixed them in place.
We’re always pleased to support projects that make a positive contribution to local communities, and it was great to be involved in bringing such a recognisable new feature to the heart of Worthing.
